Competing for Talent in 2018

To attract the best staff, companies need to make when, where and how we work negotiable.

Attitudes to work have changed over the past 10 years, driven by changes in demographics and improvements in technology.  It isn’t just “millennials”  who are looking for a better work-life balance. Older workers are increasingly looking for more than just a pay cheque from their job.

This article from The Guardian looks at some of the ways companies are addressing the demands from a changing workforce, and what a good workplace will look like in 2018.

The increasing demands for more flexibility in the workplace were also picked up in a survey of 1,000 people in Scotland by YouGov. The survey results, and some individual examples, are given in this article from The Sunday Herald.

And the move towards greater flexibility isn’t limited to the office. Shortages of skilled staff are leading more organisations to look at their employment policies to make their offer more attractive, as this example from the NHS shows.
